Capacity, accommodation with children, rooms

QWhat is the capacity of the suite?

Up to four people per suite(the room charge includes up to two people. Additional 10,000 yen per person will be charged for 3+ people.)
Up to two preschool-age children are free of charge, as long as they don’t require their own bedding.
School-age children will be counted as adults.
Please note that towels and amenities will not be available for these preschool-age children.

QSuite

Our villa has two suites, SALA SUITE and LIN SUITE. Both suites have the same layout and equipment.
Once a suite is assigned, we will communicate the name of the suite and the pin number with the guests at least three days prior to check-in.

We are not able to accommodate a preference in suites.

Reservation and payment

QCan I make a reservation by telephone?

Unfortunately, our reservation process includes securing your credit card payment online, and therefore, we do not accept reservations by telephone. However, please contact us if you have any questions about the reservation process and we will be pleased to assist you.
Our official website always offers the lowest price.

QHow can I make changes to the reservation and the number of guests?

Please refer to the help page of the booking site that you booked with. With Airbnb, guests need to request changes, and then we will review and respond to the request. If you booked through our official website, please send an email to the address noted in the reservation confirmation. If you need to change the number of guests, please make sure to notify us.

QCan I pay my accommodation fees on site by cash?

As we provide unmanned operations, we ask guests to pay in advance by credit card. Thank you for your understanding.

QDo you issue a receipt?

If you made a reservation on our official website, please send us an email request for a receipt. We will send you a PDF receipt after your payment is confirmed. Please note that it may take a few business days to issue a receipt. If your reservation was made through a third-party booking website, please obtain a receipt from them.

Accommodation with pets

QWhat kind of pets, and how many of them are allowed?

We allow dogs and cats in our villa.
Each guest may bring up to two pets, with the maximum of three pets per suite. Please also refer to “What are the rules for pets?”

Pets must meet all following conditions.
・Their vaccinations are up to date and they are not infested with fleas or ticks.
・They are not aggressive.
・They are trained not to bark excessively.
・They are toilet trained and can use designated potty spots.
・They are not pregnant.
・They are not infected with viruses or germs.
・They are not infested with parasites that are contagious.

Please follow the rules below.
・Pets are allowed on the beds. You are responsible for any damage or loss on the facility, furniture, equipment, and any items on the premises caused by your pets.
・Pets are not allowed in the bath.

QIs there pet food available?

We do not have pet food in the villa, so please bring it with you.
Should you need to buy any items, the nearest pet store is Hakone Gora Guam Dog.

QCan I sleep with my pets?

Two king beds are available in the bedroom, and pets are allowed on them. You are responsible for any damage or loss on the facility, furniture, equipment, and any items on the premises caused by your pets.

QOff-leash yard

Each suite has a private off-leash yard.
The private grass garden is approximately 200 square meters with a tunnel for your pets to run through. No need to worry about other people or pets. Through the large windows in the living room, you can keep an eye on your pets while they play in the off-leash yard all they want.

QAre there amenities for pets?

The following items are available, regardless of the number of pets.
2 towels (per 2 nights’ stay) / 3 bath towels (per 2 nights’ stay) / 3 sets of 2 dishes (for food and water) / Potty pads (please bring a litter for your cats) / Waste bags / Deodorant spray / Lint roller / Wet wipes / Foldable cage
※Leashes, crates, play structures, and pet shampoo are not available.

Hot springs, sauna, pool

QHot springs

Our villa features the private, 100% natural opaque hot spring bath, directly from Owakudani. The utmost relaxation is right in your suite, whenever you like. The bathroom has enough space to wash your pets as well. Pets are not allowed in the bathtub.
Day-use hot spring facilities are also available in the area, including Hakone Kowakien Yunessun.
※The mineral content changes day by day. To maintain hygienic water quality, we add chlorine to the hot spring water before putting it in the bathtub. We may add water to maintain the ideal water temperature.

QSauna

Each suite has a private sauna room. Have a detoxing self-service löyly session, and take a break and refresh in the outdoor sitting area.

QHow to use the pool

The indoor warm pool can be shared with your pets, and is available for free, all year round.
The pool has two different depths – so don’t worry if your pets are not good at swimming. Different sizes of life jackets and a variety of pool toys are available. Push the button to make it a lazy river.
※The approximate size of the pool is 5 meters by 3.6 meters, and the depths are 1.1 meters and 0.5 meters.
※Please keep the lazy river on for up to 10 minutes. Make sure to turn it off after use to prevent damage to the facility.
The pool can be booked during the following time slots.

If you booked both SALA SUITE and LIN SUITE, you can use the warm pool at any time during your stay.
If you booked only one of the suites, we will clean the pool between 10:00 and 15:00. As a rule, the pool is closed during this period.
If you are staying multiple days and wish to use the pool outside of the time periods listed above, please contact us. We will confirm availability.
Reservations are required to use the pool. You will receive an email about the reservation process after your room booking is confirmed.

QPool accessories

The following items are available in the pool area.
Sandals, sofa, life jackets, air pump, and pool toys
Please make sure to bring bathing suits.

Equipment

QAre there cooking appliances, dishes and condiments available in the suite?

A variety of cookware, appliances, and dishes are available in each suite. Please refer to the information sheet that we send after a booking is confirmed.
For a list of available appliances, please refer to the descriptions of each suite.
Each suite is equipped with the following items.
Three burner element induction cooktop / Refrigerator / Dishwasher / Microwave oven / Toaster / Coffee maker / Rice cooker / Kettle / Cookware / Dishes and cutlery / Standard condiments (for communal use) / Smoke-free roasting grill (can be used for a few servings of BBQ) / Induction cooktop hot pot kit
Standard cookware, as well as beautiful dishes are also available. The dishes go well with either Japanese or Western cuisine. Please refer to the pictures under “Room” on our website.
Standard condiments, such as salt, pepper, soy sauce, and oil are available in each suite, but they are communal and have been used by previous guests. We suggest that you bring your own condiments as desired.

QWhat is the size of the bed, and how many beds are available?

There are two king beds in the bedroom. The size of each bed is 180 cm x 195 cm.
Pets are allowed on the bed. There are no extra beds.
There is a foldable cage in the bedroom.

QIs there a washer?

There is a front load washer and dryer. Laundry detergent is also available.

QAre there toys for children?

There are Nintendo Switch, board games, and card games. Please clean the items and return them after use.

QWhat kind of amenities are available? Are there pajamas or loungewear?

The following amenities are available in accordance with the number of guests (for adults and school-age children). There are no amenities for preschool-age children. Additional amenities can be requested with charge.

QWhat baby items are available?

Each suite has a foldable crib and bedding items (a comforter, sheets, and a pillow) in the bedroom closet.
Please do not leave your baby unattended.
There is a high chair and a baby bath in each suite.

QIs the Internet available? Can we watch movies and play video games?

Free Wi-Fi is available.
Guests can use free movie streaming services and YouTube. Nintendo Switch is available.

QCan I listen to music?

A high-quality Bluetooth speaker is available.

QIs there water or tea available to drink?

You can get purified water directly from the kitchen faucet.
You can also enjoy fresh coffee and herbal tea free of charge (limited quantities available).

QCan I use the villa for business functions? What equipment is available?

Wi-Fi is available free of charge.
Outlets are attached to the kitchen table.
An HDMI cable can be connected to the projector. (Please use the cables in the villa to prevent damage).

Access and parking

QCan I take the train to the villa? What is the closest station?

We recommend driving to the villa, but public transportation is available as well.
JR Odawara Station
・50 minutes by bus from JR Odawara station (please confirm the schedule)
Take the Izu Hakone Bus to Kojiri via Owakudani from bus stop #5 at JR Odawara station East exit. Get off the bus at Sounzan stop, and walk for 5 minutes.

・30 minutes from Hakone Tozan Railway – Gora station
Take the ropeway from Gora station and get off at Sounzan station, and walk for 15 minutes.

・Take a taxi from Hakone Tozan Railway Gora station (10 minutes)

QParking

There are two lots for SALA SUITE guests (on the right as you face the building) and two lots for LIN SUITE guests (on the left as you face the building).
Please park in your designated parking lots as indicated on the ground. Vehicles parked in undesignated areas, even temporarily, will be towed away at the owner’s expense.

QReminders when you bring your vehicles (IMPORTANT)

Please read the following carefully.
・In winter, roads often get icy even when there is no snow on the ground. Regular tires or studless tires may not be safe to drive around on the steep hills around the villa. Please make sure to install chains on your tires.
・Do not leave pets unattended in your vehicle.
・The area does not have many streetlights and often becomes very foggy. Take great caution when you drive or park your vehicle.

QDo you offer chauffer services? Do you arrange a taxi?

Please note that we do not offer chauffeur services or arrange a taxi.
Details about local taxi companies is available in the information sheet that we send out after a reservation is confirmed. The number of taxis is limited in the Hakone area, so we recommend that you make a reservation in advance.

Check-in, check-out, baggage handling

QCheck-in and check-out time

As a rule, check-in is 15:00 and check-out is 10:00. However, if you have a promotional offer or special option that includes a different check-in/check-out times, please follow the instructions there.
Please ensure to check the details of your reservation.

QEntering the suite and how to check in

Our villa consists of two suites, SALA SUITE and LIN SUITE (both suites have the same layout and specifications.) We will confirm your suite and the pin number at least three days prior to check-in.
Once a suite is assigned, we will communicate the name of the suite, the pin number, and the check-in code with the guests at least three days before the check-in. When you arrive at the suite, please enter the pin number at the entrance. Once you enter the suite, please use the check-in tablet to enter the check-in code, enter the guest information and take pictures of the guests.

QEarly check-in and late check-out

As a rule, we do not offer early check-in services. However, providing that it does not interfere with existing operations and housekeeping, we may be able to accept early check-in requests. Please make sure to contact us in advance. We are not able to accommodate your request without advanced notice.
We do not offer late check-out.

QCan you store my baggage at the villa? Can I mail my baggage to the villa in advance?

Unfortunately, we do not store or keep baggage for guests.
We are not able to accept mailed baggage, as we do not have on-site staff at the villa.

QBaggage storage before check-in

You may be able to drop off your baggage at the villa after 12:00 on the check-in date.
There are no staff on site, and your items will be left unattended. We bear no responsibilities for the lost or damaged items.
If you wish to leave your belongings in the villa, please contact us in advance. Guests can use the suite after check-in.

Meals and facilities in the area

QDo you offer meals? Do you have any recommended restaurants?

We do not offer meals in our facility.
After a reservation is confirmed, we will send information about restaurants that allow pets, BBQ grill rental services, and store options in the area.
We recommend that you make reservations as soon as you are able and confirm the hours for each business. To place an order or payment, please contact the individual restaurants or businesses.

QWhat are the supermarkets and convenience stores in the area?

Family Mart Hakone Kowakien is five minutes’ drive from the villa, and they sell alcoholic beverages as well.
There are not many options for supermarkets in the area. We recommend that you buy food and ingredients in Gotemba or Odawara beforehand.

QCan I BBQ?

You can BBQ on the outdoor wood deck.
A world-famous BBQ grill by WEBER is available for rent.
You may not bring your own BBQ grill.
Please read the information sheet that we send after a booking is confirmed. If you wish to use a BBQ grill, please send us a request in advance. Credit card payment is required.
We will be pleased to recommend local stores to buy ingredients from.
Eating meals on the wood deck is permitted between 8:00 and 21:00. For activities outside of these hours, please stay indoors with windows closed.

Services and options

QDaytime access by non-reserved guests

For an additional fee of 7,700 yen / person (including tax), additional people may access the villa between check-in and 19:00. Each suite allows up to six people including reserved guests.
To use this service, please send us a request at least three days prior to your check-in. Credit card payment needs to be completed at least a day before the check-in.
For security purposes, cameras are installed on the premises. In the event that non-reserved guests are located on the premises without notice or beyond the designated time frame (i.e. between check-in and 19:00), they will be asked to leave the premises and we will charge an additional cost of 77,000 yen / person.

QCleaning and amenity replacement for guests staying multiple nights

Cleaning and replacement amenities will be offered at an additional fee. If you would like additional amenities and room cleaning, please send us a request at least three days before your check-in. The additional fees must be paid via credit card in advance.
For guests staying two or more nights, amenities based on the number of days staying will be provided.
①Additional towels:2,000 yen/set (including tax)
This option includes 2 towels for guests and 2 towels for pets.

②Additional towels and amenities: 4,000 yen/set (including tax)
In addition to ① above, this option includes 2 sets of loungewear and 2 sets of amenities.

③Cleaning service (for guests staying multiple days):14,000 yen (including tax)
This option includes a cleaning service for your suite, as well as a change of towels, loungewear and new amenities.
We will not clean the area where the guests’ personal items are left.
Guests will be asked to leave the suite while it is being cleaned.
Please keep your valuables safe while the suite is cleaned.
※There is no safe available in the suite.

Rules and prohibited matters

QAre there staff on site?

Our villa does not have any staff on site.
When you arrive at the suite, please enter the pin number at the entrance. Once you enter the suite, please use the check-in tablet to enter the check-in code, enter the guest information and take pictures of the guests.

QRules for the pool

Reservations are required to use the pool. In the check-in email from our facility, access the link and go to “Services” to book a time slot. Please make sure to read through the rules before booking.

QRules for the off-leash yard

The garden for each suite can be used as an off-leash yard. Please refrain from letting your pets out between 21:00 and 8:00 to be considerate for neighbors.
Please keep an eye on your pets while they are outside.
We ask you to clean up after your pets immediately. There is a tap next to the wooden deck, so please put water in the soiled area to clean.
Do not feed your pets on the grass,
※If your pets are in a heat cycle or on their period, they are not permitted in the off-leash yard.

QOther prohibited matters

Please keep in mind that we provide an unmanned operation.
<Prohibited matters>
・Making loud conversations and playing loud music while the windows are open.
・Making fire outside of the kitchen, including fireworks, bonfires, and mosquito coils, etc.
・Having BBQs or parties between 21:00 and 11:00 am.
・Conversing outside on the wood deck or the yard between 21:00 and 8:00 am.
・Smoking on the premises, including e-cigarettes.
・Leaving beverages or food outside (it may attract animals that endanger you, as well as other people. It is also unhygienic. After you eat or drink outside, please ensure to dispose of any garbage or leftovers in the bin inside the suite.)
・Letting non-reserved guests into the premises without notifying us in advance.
・Extending your stay without notifying us in advance.

    In this Privacy Policy, “personal information”, “personal data”, and “retained personal data” are as defined in the Article 2 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.
    
    1.Purpose of Privacy Policy
    FOLQ HAKONE GORA establishes this Privacy Policy to properly protect personal information of those who make reservations with, use, or contact FOLQ HAKONE GORA, and to provide beneficial information to customers. 
    
    2.Handling of Personal Information
    Asnova Design Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Asnova Design”), which manages FOLQ HAKONE GORA, acquires personal information. 
    Asnova Design shall comply with various laws and regulations, and handle personal information properly and cautiously. 
    
    3_1. Collection of Personal Information
    Asnova Design shall collect personal information solely for the purposes of 1) providing FOLQ HAKONE GORA’s accommodation services, 2) replying to inquiries, or 3) presenting information and services offered by FOLQ HAKONE GORA, or by other establishments managed by Asnova Design or relevant companies. 
    Asnova Design shall primarily acquire the following information.
    
    <Personal information to be acquired>
    Name, sex, date of birth, nationality, address, telephone number, email address, passport number, records of immediate entry to and departure from Japan (including plans), estimated duration of visit, credit card information, feedback on the accommodation, and submitted requests. If the customer follows the social media accounts operated by Asnova Design, the customer’s personal information available on their accounts shall be collected.
    
    Asnova Design may collect personal information from customers for purposes other than indicated above. In such cases, Asnova Design shall clarify the purposes for collecting personal information, obtain consent from customers, and acquire personal information to the extent that is necessary to achieve the purposes agreed upon.
    
    3_2. Use of Personal Information
    Asnova Design shall use collected personal information for the following purposes. 
    
    1. To provide accommodation and relevant services, as well as to process payments.
    2. To provide beneficial information to customers and to contact customers as needed.
    3. To conduct surveys to improve our services.
    4. To provide information on establishments and services offered by Asnova Design or relevant companies. 
    
    3_3. Provision of Personal Information and Personal Data to Third Parties
    Asnova Design may provide collected personal information and personal data to third parties including Asnova Desgin’s outsourcing contractors, in order to achieve any of the purposes mentioned under 3_1 of this Privacy Policy.
    In addition, when the disclosure of personal information and personal data is requested by the police, a court of law, a public prosecutor, a bar association, or any other institutions vested with the equivalent authority, Asnova Design may provide collected personal information and personal data to these organizations.
    Upon receiving a request by a customer, Asnova Design shall terminate providing personal information and personal data which can identify said customer to third parties. Please be advised that the customer may not be able to use FOLQ HAKONE GORA as a result.

    Should a customer wish to request disclosure, correction, termination of use, or a notification of the purposes for use of their own personal data based on the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the customer themselves shall contact FOLQ HAKONE GORA.

    3_6. Cookies
    Asnova Design may collect information about viewed webpages, usage history and analytics that are obtained through third-party data providers’ Cookies and advertising ID (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Cookies”). Such information may be linked with the guests’ personal data to deliver advertisements.
    
    4.Security of Personal Information
    Asnova Design shall comply with various laws and regulations, and disseminate the importance of protecting personal information to employees and outsourcing contractors.
    
    Asnova Design shall thoroughly manage passwords for electronic files that contain personal information. For external systems that handle personal information, Asnova Design shall ensure that those systems apply appropriate information security measures.
